There is one thing that you can’t compromise on, no matter what happens in life – sleep. We have all been there, compromising on our sleep for other things which seem to be more important, like partying, stretching working hours at office, or staying up for a movie marathon. Though you might think that sleeping for just five hours a day will do for you, but you are over-looking some serious health issues here. Open your eyes to these signs which say that you need to sleep more:
1. You’re Always Hungry
Your brain doesn’t get enough energy from your body, so you constantly feel hungry. Not taking enough rest can increase the production of ghrelin, which is also known as hunger hormone. Too much of this hormone makes your gut can make you crave for fatty and sugary foods.
2. You’ve Gained Some Weight
With increased appetite due to your bad sleeping habits, you are also packing on some pounds. When you’re tired, you’re not watching what you put in your mouth. The increased craving for sweets and snacks throughout the day can increase your waistline by inches.
3. You’re More Impulsive
Normally, people don’t think and act when they are exhausted. Your ability to resist toward foods that you crave becomes too low. You also tend to be more short-tempered with things which normally never bothered you.
4. You Can’t Remember Things
It becomes difficult for you to think what you had decided to do today. When you’re tired, your brain is too occupied in the things that you’re doing now, and fails to remember things. Your brain health declines by the day.
