Adeboye preaches righteousness at Holy Ghost Congress
THE Redeemed Christian Church of God General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged the citizenry to live righteously.
Speaking on Monday, at the Redemption camp, during the opening of the 19th edition of the Holy Ghost Congress 2016: ‘Complete restoration’, Adeboye said, “All that God made was good, God blessed all that He created and He told his creation to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion.”
Speaking on the topic, ‘In the begining’, the cleric said man started the sojourn in life with abundance but, things changed after man disobeyed God.
“Curses, hard labour, sweat and death came after man sinned. Sin is a terrible thing and there can be no restoration until sin is removed.”
He added: “To have restoration, we have to deal with the issue of sin. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, do not expect any kind of restoration,” he said.
Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) urged Christians to imbibe the act of thanksgiving.
Speaking on the topic: ‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving’. Ashimolowo said thanksgiving was an act of being grateful and an expression of what God had done.
According to him, thanksgiving produces multiplication, lifts up a man and it is a way to honour God.
He added that thanksgiving is a seed, the backbone to victory and it is an invisible weapon against the devil.
“We should thank God for keeping us alive and for all He has done for us.
“Thanksgiving brings manifestation, it is a recognition that God is in charge of your life and it makes things work for you.
“When you give thanks to God, signs and wonders follow, blessing comes. Thanksgiving is the key to quantitative breakthrough, it brings life into a dead situation and it is a sign that you trust God. Unlimited thanksgiving will bring unlimited breakthrough,” he said.
